Worldwide popera diva 'UNA', whose new album 'La Paix' just came out, conveys messages of hope.

클래시컬 크로스오버 가수 ‘우나(Una)’가 ‘La Paix(평화)’라는 새 앨범으로 우리에게 찾아왔다.
클래식과 현대음악을 넘나들며 자유로운 해석과 새로운 음악을 선사하는 팝페라 디바 우나는 이번 새 앨범에서 고전적인 형식에 현대적 감각의 음률로 섬세한 감성을 잘 녹여냈다는 평가를 얻고 있다.

우나는 이번 앨범에 대해 “이번에 발표했던 앨범에도 실제 내 감정과 생각을 담은 곡들이 많이 있었는데, 이번 작품에서도 역시 평소 느꼈던 생각들을 함축적으로 표현하려고 노력했다”고 말했다.
특히 이번 새 앨범은 전쟁과 재난으로 고통받는 사람들의 상처를 치유하고 마음의 평안을 기원하는 희망의 메시지를 담고 있다.

그녀는 “올해 세계 곳곳에 전쟁과 자연재해가 많이 일어나 피해와 아픔을 겪는 분들의 평안을 기원하는 마음으로 곡을 썼다”고 전했다.
우나는 유럽과 미국의 많은 공연무대에서 다져진 예술적 바탕 위에 우리 전통 민요와 클래식까지 아우르는 음악 세계를 들려주며,

2012년부터 2014년까지 ISO 국제표준화기구 홍보대사로 활동, 우리 고유의 가락 아리랑의 우수성을 국제기구에서 널리 알린 바 있다.

우나는 "아름다운 멜로디도 중요하지만 사람들에게 전달하는 언어도 중요하다고 느꼈다. 국제기구에서 한국어, 프랑스어, 영어 3개국 언어로 만든 아리랑을 들려주는 기회가 많았는데 영어권 국가 임원들은 영어로 불려지는 아리랑에 관심과 호응을 해줬고, 국제표준화기구 ISO 의장인 크리스토프 티시에와 많은 불어권 국가 기술위원들은 프랑스어 아리랑에 더 많은 박수와 찬사를 보내줬다”며,

‌“이번 작품도 프랑스어로 직접 작사해 많은 사람들이 공감하는 음악을 담고자 했다"고 말했다.
클래식 고유의 색을 지니며 시대에 맞는 현대적인 음악 스펙트럼을 보여주는 클래시컬 크로스오버 성악가 우나. 대중성과 함께 예술성으로 다가가고자 하는 우나의 음악 세계의 다양성과 깊이를 이번 앨범 'La Paix (평화)'를 통해 다시 한 번 느낄 수 있다.

Classical crossover singer Una has returned with her new album, La Paix (Peace).
Una, a popera diva who presents fresh music and free interpretations bridging classical and contemporary genres, is receiving praise for seamlessly blending delicate emotions with classical formats and modern melodies in this new release.

Speaking about the album, Una said, "Just as my previous releases featured many songs that reflected my genuine emotions and thoughts, I tried to implicitly express my everyday reflections in this work as well."
In particular, this new album carries a message of hope, wishing to heal the wounds and bring peace of mind to those suffering from wars and disasters.

"With many wars and natural disasters occurring around the world this year, I wrote these songs with a heart wishing for the peace of those enduring loss and pain," she added.

Building on an artistic foundation solidified through numerous performances across Europe and the United States, Una showcases a musical world that encompasses both Korean traditional folk songs and classical music. Furthermore, she served as a goodwill ambassador for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) from 2012 to 2014, widely promoting the excellence of Korea's traditional melody, "Arirang," on the global stage.
Una noted, "I realized that while a beautiful melody is important, the language used to communicate with people is equally vital. There were many opportunities to perform 'Arirang' in Korean, French, and English at international organizations. Officials from English-speaking countries showed great interest and responded warmly to the English version, while ISO President Christophe Tissier and many technical committee members from French-speaking countries gave even greater applause and praise for the French version." She continued, "For this project as well, I wrote the lyrics myself in French to create music that resonates with many people."

Classical crossover vocalist Una retains the inherent colors of classical music while presenting a contemporary musical spectrum suited for the times.
